Stormsfury, I agree with you. However, the eastern portion of the line was moving a bit to the southeast and the thunderstorm activity over Tennessee, northern Mississippi and northern Alabama is moving southeastward.

Yep ... sure was...divergent splitting of the thunderstorm line ...
Coldfront makes an excellent point here ... Look where the thunderstorms are moving east and Southeast in those areas ... whereas the influence of the trough loses its influence on an easterly component in Louisiana (and the thunderstorms are moving south/southwest) ...
