Now, it will probably send some nice 50-60 mph winds along the LA coast, however, so even still they get some goods from Ed despite a landfall there. Also, I think a LOT of people are gonna wake up and be VERY surprised at how intense a minimal cane/strong TS really is, especially a deepening one.
It's going to be a Louisiana storm.

From the NHOP:
" 3.2.7. Tropical Cyclone Position Estimates. The hurricane centers and WFO Guam
may issue a position estimate between 2-hourly intermediate public advisories whenever
sufficient, reliable radar center fix information is available. "

Well said Normandy... no LA landfall for Eddie... IMO still banking on just east of high island...

Very clearly heading due west towards the Bolivar Peninsula:

This is not a good track for metro Houston, FYI.

Duddy, no disrespect intended, but after looking at the latest Lake Charles radar, the center of circulation is south of Cameron right now, not to mention that the storm appears (to me, anyway) to be heading west now.
Sorry, but I just don't see how it can hit Cameron as you're suggesting.

Alright. Not gonna argue with ya....
Anyways back to Ed, reeeeeeallly wrapping up right now....Im actually VERY confident now that this will become a cane before hitting. Ragged eye is already starting to take shape, and large convective burst is evident on IR.

Winds are pretty strong in gusts here in Vermilion Parish still. Good size branches down, neighbors fence down in my yard, power was out for an hour. Thunder and heavy rain still falling.

Next advisory should be interesting. Anyone think that Ed will be a 'cane at that point?
Local met just said he believes it's a very high probability we'll see Cat 1 by landfall.

No LA landfall, but it does look like they are going to get whacked pretty good. The Sabine pass area is going through and will continue to go through some heavy bands...

The motion of the storm's center still appears to be moving mostly west though, and if this continues, then landfall should occur close to the Bolivar peninsula later this morning. At landfall it looks like the heavy center bands containing TS force winds will extend from Galveston up through Sabine Pass.

We will see about this becoming a cane. I knew it would tighten up as it moves towards land as storms do. Recon has found 67 knots at flight level which is 53.6 knots at the surface. It is still possible to become a hurricane.
Also note to mod I thought this thread was for fighting over track and strength of storms. Something changed.

It does look like Ed is trying to wrap around an eye in the last couple of frames. He is moving more west as well. Port Arthur is going to get slammed with some deep red nasty bands. http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid= ... 1&loop=yes
