I've seen it more than once in my 53 years on the Gulf coast. Not too many of them amount to major problems(of coure Alicia is an exception).

Not to wish bad luck on anyone, but it's nice to know this one's going somewhere else, and not coming here.

We will probably only climb to 700mb to get the cal and then descend down to 1000mb shortly their after....

How close would it have to be for the recon not to go to 700 millibars but just climb to invest level?

I always cheer for LSU when they play almost anybody. Except, of course, Texas. I lived in Lafayette area, partied in BTR a total of about 3 years 1997-2000, with one nine month stretch back in Houston, between Baker Hughes, a layoff, and Halliburton. Listened a lot to the Eagle, home of Walters and Johnson, from BTR. LSU vs Texas National Title, I'd so cheer for Texas, but I'd love it and hope it was a close game.
Back on topic, cloud tops warming a tad, but still below -60ºC...
