The important thing of the 5 PM advisory is that the gulfstream plane will and is already making survellance of the upper patterns that will be useful for the models at 000 UTC.

Ok, what am I missing? The discussion seemed to hint at a track more to the right but they actually shifted it a tad left.

Lindaloo what that noaa plane is doing is to fly at very high altituds around 40,000 feet to see the upper patterns in a big area to then know what the trough is going to do and also the anticyclone will do and that imput from them will factor in on the 0000 UTC model runs and then the NHC will have a better handle of the future track depending on that information.

What the G-IV also means is a nice data set for research of the environment and to hopefully determine what caused the sudden intensity changes
