I figured since we all are going a bit bonkers I would share my funniest hurricane story.
When we lived in NC and hurricanes came our way we would all go and pack up and head to a time share resort my stepdad works at. They wanted him onsite for any cleanup or emergancies. When you walk in there is a mud area and then 4 steps up to the 1st floor of the units.
Well we would always leave the door open to see what was going on and get some fresh air in since it is usually very muggy hot during the storm once the electric goes out. The one problem is that all the little froggies from the area like to then hop right in to the mud area since everything outside is flooded.
Well the morning after the worst night of Hurricane Floyd BamBam (my hubby) goes to grab his shoes so he can dry them..since we are all stupid enough to go walking around in a hurricane and get all our shoes wet... they were sitting in the mudroom and he had two little froggies in his shoes that he goes and puts in the grass.
About a half hour later we smell this HORRID stink! Imagine my embarressment when I have to call my stepfather (who was out checking the other units) and tell him we beat out all the worst calls he ever got from people staying at the resort...Poor Bambam didn't check all the way inside his gym shoes and had left 2 more frogs in the toes of his shoes and they had exploded in the dryer!!!
I am outside trying not to be sick from the smell..honestly the worst thing I have ever smelled in my life..and i was pregnant with our second child at the time, which didn't help...When the hubby brings his shoes outside to dry after spending a long time cleaning out the dryer with my stepdad and scrubbing these $100 shoes.
Lo and behold not even 10 minutes later there are more frogs in his shoes and a black snake! ......He was so mad that I bet to this day his shoes are still sitting at the bottom of the pond that is right outside the unit at the resort *snickers*
A funny hurricane story to break the insanity!
