It looks like the convection is more concentrated now than in the past 12 hours and the low center is not exposed as in the past hours and also it is moving not as fast as before but let's wait to see if this new upward trend is a fluctuation or it is that shear has decreased somewhat but time will tell the real story.

Looks like the LLC is slowing some...which is good nes. It may be pulling back towards the dynanmics. Latest fix has pressure down and more of a WNW motion. It has also slowed by about 2 kts. Hopefully the slowing trend will continue.

She sure looks like she is giving it her best shot! If she hadn't had the chance to strengthen yesterday then she may not have made it through today but she looks to have had enough gumption to survive. My belief is that she will strengthen as she gets out of this mess and continue on to Hurricane strength within the next 24-36 hours.

I agree Gulfbreezer. I still think we'll be looking at a hurricane pretty soon. This girl's persistent!

Agree air force it has slowed a tad so let's see if that trend continues as apparently if it is slowing down a little bit it may mean that the subtropical ridge may be breaking up more earlier than anticipated that that could have big implications on the future track.

A quick look(thanks Ticka for the link to Derek's office)at the animation tells me that the ULL to the W of Claudette has begun to disapate. If this is the case, then TS Claudette is indeed beginning a strengthening phase that could take her to hurricane strength within the next 18 hrs imo. I do not think it is the western edge of the ridge beginning to erode as there is really nothing close that would begin that process. Seems everything I have read lately in discussions is beginning to take place which does not bode well for people along the Yucatan peninsula and later the Gulf coast. As always time will tell.

VERY NICE VIEW TICKA!! Thanks! Claudette sure looks like a real trooper through those images, you can see very plainly where she almost lost it for a bit but is now regaining her composure!

Not looking good now. Arc clouds coming out of the circulation, the LLC is exposed again (seen in vis images under the thini cirrus) and is moving at 23 kts again.
