My yard, with only a few exceptions, has done a pretty decent job avoiding rain the last few weeks.

Sure yankee, I'll do my best. We've had over an inch so far in a pretty short time... it's really coming down hard.

I haven't seen this much rain in months.... Lake SG is back. It's training over the same area.

I might get lucky! Just in the last two frames the northern end of that cell is expanding and might just might go right over the house and give me some much-needed rain finally! We shall see...

I told you I'd do my best. You're welcome. 8-)

It looks like you'll have plenty more chances, Jason. We have pretty good rain chances for at least the next several days. I can sit out the next few rounds. I'm a stone's throw from the Hardin/Jefferson County line. This is the most we've gotten at once in quite a while, though.

Things are coming together for a wet week in SE TX/SW LA. Disturbed area in GOM continues to move WNW and the approach of a frontal boundry that is forecast to stall just to our north should be the trigger to enhance rain chances. HGX has noted in early morning AFD that the best slug of deep tropical moisture will arrive on Saturday...we shall see...

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HOUSTON/GALVESTON TX
425 AM CDT THU JUN 26 2008

.DISCUSSION...
NOT QUITE GIVING UP ON THE IDEA OF SCT PCPN JUST YET FOR TODAY.
WHILE IT FEELS LIKE A SLIGHTLY DRIER AIRMASS HAS MOVED INTO THE
REGION...WE ARE SEEING SOME SOME DEVELOPMENT FROM THE NE AND AT
THE COAST THIS MORNING. SATELLITE WV IMAGERY AND MODELS ARE IN-
DICATING THE APPROACH OF AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE FROM THE NE
LATER TODAY. THIS FEATURE COMBINED WITH AFTN HEATING/PWS AROUND
1.7" SHOULD HELP PRODUCE SCT SH/TSRAS TODAY. THIS PATTERN PROG-
GED TO REPEAT IT SELF ON FRI. THE FCST FOR THE WEEKEND HAS ALSO
CHANGED A BIT WITH THESE LAST COUPLE OF RUNS WITH THE TREND GO-
ING ON THE WET SIDE. A DEEPER SLUG OF GULF MOISTURE SET TO MOVE
INTO SE TX ON SAT. AND THEN ON SUNDAY A WEAK COOL FRONT IS FCST
TO SAG INTO THE NRN REACHES OF THE CWFA AND LINGER IN THIS GEN-
ERAL VICINITY THROUGH MON. THE EXTENDED PART OF THE FCST SHOULD
SEE THE MORE TYPICAL SE TX SUMMERTIME DIURNAL PCPN PATTERN WITH
THE SEABREEZE AND AFTN HEATING AS THE PRIMARY MOVERS/SHAKERS. 41

I think the drier airmass changed its mind.
No rain here yet, but I'm hearing a lot of thunder and there's scattered storms all over the radar. NWS has also upped our rain chances to 60% for the next several days.

Edit: Just saw this was issued.

...TROPICAL FUNNEL CLOUDS POSSIBLE THROUGH THIS EVENING...

MULTIPLE REPORTS OF A FUNNEL CLOUD IN THE BELL CITY AREA OF
CALCASIEU PARISH.

A VERY MOIST AND UNSTABLE TROPICAL AIRMASS IS IN PLACE ACROSS THE

THESE TROPICAL FUNNEL CLOUDS ARE USUALLY SHORT-LIVED AND DO NOT
REACH THE GROUND. IF THE FUNNEL CLOUD BECOMES MORE SEVERE AND

WARNING WILL LIKELY BE ISSUED.

STAY TUNED FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND UPDATES ON THIS WEATHER
