Although there is no official call at this time, IMO TS Claudette has formed just E of the Southern Windward islands. Although she would be a minimal tropical storm as she crosses the island chain tropical storm force winds should be expected in both Barbados and St. Lucia in the stronger squalls.

Hurricane Watch for the east coast of the Yucatan Peninsula from
Chetumal to Cabo Catoche.
A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for Jamaica and Grand
Cayman. A tropical storm watch remains in effect for Little Cayman
and Cayman Brac.
Tropical storm center located near 15.5n 77.6w at 09/1500z
position accurate within 30 nm
present movement toward the west or 275 degrees at 21 kt
estimated minimum central pressure 1004 mb
Max sustained winds 55 kt with gusts to 65 kt.

...Claudette strengthens...hurricane warnings issued for the Yucatan
Peninsula...
at 11 am EDT...1500 UTC...the government of Mexico has issued a
Hurricane Warning on the east coast of the Yucatan Peninsula from
Chetumal to Cabo Catoche...and a Tropical Storm Warning along the
northern and western coasts of the Yucatan Peninsula from Cabo
Catoche to Campeche.
At 11 am EDT...1500 UTC...the government of Belize has issued a
Tropical Storm Warning from Belize City northward to the
Belize-Mexico border.
A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for Grand Cayman. A
tropical storm watch remains in effect for Little Cayman and Cayman
Brac. These warnings could be discontinued later today.
Interests elsewhere in Belize and the Yucatan Peninsula should
monitor the progress of Claudette.
Reports from an Air Force reserve hurricane hunter aircraft indicate
that Claudette has strengthened and re-organized a little to the
north of the previous advisory position.
At 11 am EDT...1500z...the center of Tropical Storm Claudette was
located near latitude 17.8 north...longitude 83.6 west or about
275 miles...445 km...southeast of Cozumel Mexico.
Claudette is moving toward the west-northwest near 16 mph
...26 km/hr...and this general motion is expected to continue for
the next 24 hours. This motion could bring the center of Claudette
near or over the northeastern Yucatan Peninsula late tonight or
Friday.
Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 70 mph...110
km/hr...with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is forecast
during the next 24 hours and Claudette could become a hurricane

northern coasts of the Yucatan Peninsula from Chetumal to
progreso.
A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect along the northern and
western coasts of the Yucatan Peninsula from progreso to Campeche...
and along the Belize coast from Belize City northward to the
Belize-Mexico border.

...Claudette moving northwestward and becoming somewhat
disorganized...
at 5 om EDT...2100 UTC...the government of Mexico has changed the
Tropical Storm Warning to a Hurricane Warning from Cabo Catoche to
progreso. A Hurricane Warning is now in effect on the eastern and
northern coasts of the Yucatan Peninsula from Chetumal to
progreso.
A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect along the northern and
western coasts of the Yucatan Peninsula from progreso to Campeche...
and along the Belize coast from Belize City northward to the
Belize-Mexico border.
A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for Grand Cayman. A
tropical storm watch remains in effect for Little Cayman and Cayman
Brac. These warnings could be discontinued tonight.
Interests elsewhere in Belize...the Yucatan Peninsula...and western
Cuba should monitor the progress of Claudette.
At 5 PM EDT...2100z...the center of Tropical Storm Claudette was
located near latitude 18.6 north...longitude 84.2 west or about
210 miles...340 km...southeast of Cozumel Mexico.
Claudette is moving toward the northwest near 14 mph...22 km/hr...
and this general motion is expected to continue for the next 24
hours. This motion should bring the center over or near the
northeastern Yucatan Peninsula tonight or Friday.
Maximum sustained winds are near 70 mph...110 km/hr...with higher
gusts. Reports from an Air Force reserve hurricane hunter and
