Half of the convection is south of the equator. :eek:

It looks a little bit better now than it did in those pictures, but its clearly moved north a bit. I'd really like to see if something could cross the equator.

Something already has. The pre-depression (or perhaps it was pre-storm) circulation that eventually became Cyclone Agni (2004) actually had a CCW circulation while it's center was south of the equator. It's formative circulation tracked WSW from north of the equator...to just south of the equator...and then back north of the equator again.
