AT THE END OF A SEVEN-HOUR SEARCH...AN AIR FORCE RESERVE HURRICANE
HUNTER AIRCTRAFT FOUND A POORLY-DEFINED CIRCULATION CENTER IN THE
STRONG TROPICAL WAVE IN THE CENTRAL CARIBBEAN SEA. THE SYSTEM IS
THEREFORE UPGRADED TO TROPICAL STORM CLAUDETTE WITH 45 MPH WINDS
AND A CENTRAL PRESSURE OF 1006 MB. A FULL ADVISORY WILL BE ISSUED
BY 2100 UTC...5 PM EDT. THIS ADVISORY WILL LIKELY INCLUDE TROPICAL
STORM WARNINGS AND WATCHES FOR JAMAICA AND THE CAYMAN ISLANDS.

Our local met said it will slow and become a cat1..Interesting too... he says it's too early to tell yet where she is going and it's too early too tell if we have a cat1 in the E GOM later this weekend..I didn't like how he worded that..especially being the guidance is mostly west!!! :o And he is usually down playing anything out there..Will be an interesting couple of days!!!rainstorm wrote:it seems like the last several years there is always something wrong with any system that develops. this is a rocket, and like dr lyons said, it is catching up with the trough in front of it. slow down, or die claudette.
