They've changed the font, and I think someone was too lazy to draw the full TS warnings along the coast :P

Nicaragua's leftist anti-America government hasn't issued a TS warning yet I see, even with the system expected to hit as a TS soon.

Lets not introduce politics to this serious situation that this system pose to that region.

Once TD1e moves inland where does the moisture go?

It will become Alma. Looks like it will move inland into Central America and perhaps end up in the Caribbean.

Heck yes, I've been waiting for that type for a while now, now theirs' are like mine!

The font should still be bolded. Even the maps look slightly different, whatever that may be.

They didn't mention much about how east this TC is.

We've had warm waters this winter. If remnant storm material gets into the Caribbean it could form.

Just was looking to see if any media picked up on One-E and I find this gem in the comments section at the Sun Sentinel.

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/weather/hurricane/sfl-528tropicaldepression,0,4764002.story

Oh my God! It's not even June 1st, and this thing isn't even in the Atlantic or Gulf. It's a Pacific batch of rain. It will never affect the Gulf Coast or East Coast, so why are we hearing about it?

Oh yeah, that's right... this news is brought to you by your friends in the Insurance industry. They're now going to try to somehow add Pacific rain storms into the risk calculation so that they can increase our premiums again.

For those of you in the media, be it print, broadcast or web. Please stick to reporting actual Atlantic storms. No Pacific storms, no sub-tropical storms, and let's lose the predictions of how many storms and how strong they'll be. You all have lost your credibility with that! My prediction is that there will be some tropical activity this hurricane season. Will any of it reach the United States? Possibly. Can anyone say for sure? No! Stop being sheeple. Stop being the puppets of the insurance industry. Just report on one when it actually forms, and provide us the track. The Hurricane center can at least predict the path fairly accurately. Alright, I've said enough for now.

Another one of the uninformed. Sounds like that clown Footy on WIOD in the mornings who said hurricane forecasters are criminals

I do agree that the annual forecasts should stop being *publicized*, not produced. Insider use only. I suppose we can thank the "freedom of information act" for that. I don't really see the reason for the public to know. It's not like anybody heeds the warnings to begin with. Let's call it what it is...a ratings grab for the media and nothing more. Belive me, after what I went through during Hurricane Rita and sitting in 21 hours of traffic to go 150 miles, yeah...hurricanes were a joke along the upper Texas coast until one morning we woke up and there was a Cat. 5 on our door.

This is what the AP is sending out

MIAMI — The National Hurricane Center says a tropical depression has formed off the coast of Costa Rica, just days before the Atlantic Hurricane Season officially begins.

Senior hurricane specialist James Franklin says the depression is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm within the next 24 hours as it approaches the coast of Nicaragua. The depression had winds of 50 km/h and was moving north at five km/h. Forecasters say it was located 169 km/h west-northwest of Cabo Blanco.

Franklin says the depression will primarily bring heavy rains rather than strong winds.

The hurricane season begins June 1.

Now, if you were not a geek and had not been following the system, wouldn't you think the depression is in the Atlantic basin after reading that?

I highly disagree with you on taking away the right for the public to know, and stoping the free flow of information; which is the cornerstone of what makes America a free and advanced republic, that has been free for over 200 years. People must know because that is what freedom is about it is about information and knowledge, I will oppose anything that takes away the PEOPLES right to know information that they Pay for with their tax dollars. It leads down a bad path that all on storm2k should be fearful and utterly opposed to, and that is the fact once one thing is not allowed then the NHC can take away the old Advisory selection on their home page; I don't understand why they don't want people to read them, but more importantly the computer models and satellite. I bet they would love to do what Europe doe's and control the release of information. That is not freedom and I'm opposed to it. So please think about the whole issue, because we could loss a lot if it ever happened. In would hurt us.

As for this depression, I would say chances are high that this becomes a storm soon.
