1964 September 1st Dora : Hurricane Dora was the only hurricane in the Twentieth Century to make landfall on the First Coast region of Florida
(1965) June 14th One: formed as Depression in Eastern Pacific just South of Mexico moved North into Gulf of Mexico striking Florida Panhandle as TS
August 29th : (1965) Betsy : nickedname “Billion Dollar Betsy” She striked 2 U.S states 1st South Florida then hit Louisiana as Cat 4, she even pulled off 2 loopy loops, 10-12 billion dollars in US damages
August 22nd (1966) Faith: Perfect name for this storm, longest tracking Hurricane, stayed as a hurricane for 13 days or 7,500 miles

September 7th (1967) Beulah: She became Major Huricane making land fall on Yucatan and Texas as such. She did reached Cat 5 status
(Important note) 1968 started very busy however ended quitely with 8 name storms. Which goes to show that early season activity has no correlation to the entire season
June 23rd (1968) Candy: I thought I be funny here “I want Candy…. I want Candy” Jesse McCartney song. TS impacted Texas ($1.2 million in damage)
August 14th : (1969) Camille: “RUN FOR YOUR LIFE”! No joke with this storm topped at 190 mph (909mbar) slamming St. Luis Mississippi like an Atomic bomb at Cat 5 strength on Aug. 19th (9.2 billion dollars in damage 256 casualties)
1972: One of the quietest. No Major Hurricanes formed
October 9th (1972) Fran: She is unique, she traveled East instead of West starting from Bermuda ending near Europe

September 16th (1975) Elois: This storm had a wild hairdo, it effected Puerto Rico and Hispaniola and then impacted Panama City Beach , Florida as Major Cat3 Hurricane
August 22nd (1976) Emmy: This one deserves credit, she took a track like a letter “m” or sigma, however casued 68 indirect deaths on a Venezuelan Air Force plane carrying a school choir that flew through the system trying to land but crashed
August 30th (1977) Anita: Similar to Andrew, formed into Cat 5 east of Mexico and devestated it.
January 18th (1978) sub-One: The earliest Tropical system to ever form in the Atlantic
August 26th (1979) David: This was a powerful Cat 5 Hurricane that spent 2 days as Cat 5 over Santo Domingo (capital) in Dominican Republic and went up the East Coast of Florida like Floyd as a Cat 2.
August 30th (1979) Frederic: Very similar to Katrina, it was a weak system in the Atlantic when it entered the Gulf it began its rapid intensification and slammed into Alabama Mississippi as strong Cat4
August 2nd (1980) Allen: Another Cat5 Hurricane (190mph) struck Mexico at Cat3, However at its stongest south of Cuba (by couple hundred miles)It had such a large wind field that Florida Keys had Gale force winds
August 15th (1983) Alicia: This is the worst case Scenario storm; turn on tv and says Cat 1 Hurricane is going to strike Texas within several hours “Cat 1 Big deal most say just stay indoors, just look out for flooding.” Couple hours before impact that Cat1 hurricane intensified rapidly to Cat3 “excuse me…. what did you say couple hours ago.. look out for flooding, we got bigger problems now.
September 8th (1968) Diana: She’s all Nuclear, Strucked North Carolina Cat 4 and impacted the Nuclear Power Plant thankfuly no damage
October 26th (1985) Juan: made few landfalls on the Gulf Coast by doing loopy loops as Cat 1 Hurricane
September 11th 1989 Hugo: crossed Puerto Rico at Cat2 and took a heavy toll on South Carolina as Cat 4 (max wind 160mph, 919mb) $10billion dollars in damage, Iris followed close behind Hugo causing more problems for Puerto Rico

2004:This Hurricane Season decided to take a vacation in Florida. wouldn’t you know we didn’t even invite them and they wrecked the place. These are the storms that are no longer allowed to visit Florida (BonnieTS, Charley4, Frances4, Ivan5, and Jeanne3) Bonnie and Charley were 24 hours apart when effecting Florida (I guess they were trying to have a relationship)
2005: After 2004 people figured it can’t get any worse, at least not for a while…..Lets check the Probably Not-O-Meter! The most HyperActive Hurricane Season on Record.
28 Namestorms, 15 Hurricanes (most in 1 record) and 7 Major Hurricanes, To make it worse, it was destructive. ($141 bilion in damage) 5 of the 7 Major Hurricanes made landfall The worst of all for U.S was Hurricane Katrina (best of luck Louisiana). Wait believe it or not there is more. Wilma became the strongest Hurricane on Record (winds 185mph, mbar 882) She must have been mad with Flinstone this time. Now Florida should have known better of inviting Dennis from last year’s season. Dennis was strongest Hurricane on Record for all Julys (150 mph 930 mbar) There’s more… this season wiped out the list of names and went into greek Names. Rita became a star. Both America and Mexico were devestated but hold togeter
