9 degrees outside

#1 Postby Scott Patterson » Sun Apr 27, 2008 9:51 am

9F (-13C) outside this morning and its almost May. What happened to Spring?

On the plus side last winter's snow is almost melted. It's been a long winter this year at least compared to the past few years.

we too are gonna get a major cool-down after the past 10 days of well-above temperatures, instead of the uuper 60s and 70s (20C to 25C) readings more typical later into May... we are going into several days of below normal readings (mid to upper 40sF) ( 6C to 9C) for daytime highs, with rain-showers.

still thats not 9F but it will still be a shock to the system, good news though..IT IS almost May.
yay

Back on March 8th 2000, southern Ontario got up to 24C+ in different areas. This year, we already have had 2 full weeks of temperatures above 70F or 15C.

Yes, especially since I was in Arizona/Southern Utah for the past couple weeks.

Even with the cool start, today's official high was 57, so a nice warm up. Actually, we did hit 70 a while ago and tomorrow is supposed to be 68 and Tuesday 71. Then it's supposed to snow Wednesday night. Typical spring weather I guess. In fall I've seen it go teens to 80's in a single day. Summer is when we really have morning to night temps that swing on an almost daily basis. Check out July for example. Last July 2 when from the 30's in the morning to almost 100 in the afternoon. Days in August did hit 90 in the afternoon after frost in the morning. In summer temperatures are commonly in the 30's in the morning and 90's in the afternoon. Since I ride my bike to work it's weird to freeze on my way to work and roast on the way home!
