If it gets as cold as predicted here in Central Florida ( MID 20,S) the veggie and Strawberry crops will be in serious trouble.

im saying 33 for the cold parts of St. Pete and 35 on the coast, but that isnt the important number. Wind Chills will be in the very low 20's, but because the variant in winds im gonna say 19-24° WC's in all of St. Pete.

This could be devastating for the farmers. And there is a chance of
snow flurries along the east coast/space coast with 850 mb temps
of -5 C and low 30s at the surface.

I just checked the afternoon update from NWS and they are saying wind chill of 12* for me in the morning. Don't think I have ever felt it that cold before. I remember 20* temps but the wind wasn't blowing like this. :cold:

:uarrow:

Thanks! I just hope my pipes and well pump don't freeze. *crosses fingers and toes*

I covered the pipes - gonna try to rig up something for the pump when hubby gets home. I know you have to leave it ventilated somewhat.

If there is any good news for tropical plants owners & farmers here in the Orlando area is that temps are about 3 degrees higher than what the NWS forecasted to be at 7 PM EST, I still think that we should not see temps any lower than 30 deg.

I have a doozy of a cold. I shouldn't complain as I haven't had one in two years but going outside to smoke is not funny. Do I really want a cig that bad? The wind chill is at 31. They weren't lying about the wind. Limbs falling like leaves outside and my mother heard a large limb cracking but it hasn't fallen yet. Hope this wind keeps up for the farmers sake.
