Meh. Not an unusual cold snap by any means. Looks like we may even avoid the teens here(which usually happens a couple of times every winter). Blah. After a lot of rain the past week(including over 2 inches today), looks like a quiet week ahead aside from the cold, and then back to normal by next weekend.

This is looking like it may shape up quite a bit like the 1/24/2003 event here in central Florida. A few flakes of snow in the air were reported along the coast from Flagler Beach down to Fort Pierce. Image

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 37. Wind chill values as low as 30. North northwest wind between 20 and 22 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 49. Wind chill values as low as 26 early. North northwest wind between 21 and 23 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.

If it's gonna be that cold - I hope to see a couple flakes! Besides the drivers around here.

I don't remember a time where it has been so cold with such strong winds. I think there is a possibility many palms will be wiped out in Central Florida leaving the majority of them just handing on for dear life in South Florida.

:jacket: :cold:

Sharply colder here today and very windy. I was just outside for 2 minutes and I'm freezing.

Now it looks like our coldest morning will be Thursday or even Friday with calm winds.

The Cold air has really been pouring in this afternoon, i have had sustained winds in the 10-15 mph with a gust to 19.5 in the last hour. Looks like it will be about 26 here tonight as I am always about 3 degrees cooler than the NWS forcast at the Jacksonville Internation Airport. Tomorrow probably wont get out of the 30's here. Tomorrow night will probably bottom out around 15-17 degrees. Thursday night there is a mention of flurries in the forcast for Jax NWS.

OSSIBILITY OF FLURRIES...AS FLOW VEERS NNE THU SOME ATLANTIC
STRATOCUMULUS WILL BEGIN TO ADVECT INLAND TOWARD OUR NE FL COASTAL
COUNTIES THROUGH THE DAY. ENOUGH SHALLOW MOISTURE...FORCING AND COLD
850 MB TEMPS MAY SUPPORT A FEW FLURRIES LATE THU AFTN/EVENING.

Nope, no snow here, but very, very, very cold. :cold: Definitely colder than what we're used to. And the wind makes it feel worse.
When it's this cold, I'd rather have some precipitation to show for it, but alas, the airmass is very, very dry.

Are we still expecting snow here in the south somewhere or should the title be changed?

CAA is holding down the temps today at noon. I am still in the upper 30's here on the Mississippi coast. Didn't get as cold as forecast last night due to the winds being up. We have a forecast low here tonight near 20......MGC
