Only 30% here. The radar implies there will be a lot more coverage, but then again, it could all fall apart before it gets here, so maybe they will be right.

Looking at the radar says that most definitely the chances are greater than 30%.

Wow they are getting a shallacking in Northern Harris and up towards the house. The wife is out running errands today near TW Mall....and they are getting pounded at the moment. Looks like a fun commute home - NOT.

Also, look at the temp spread - 68 in Tomball & 84 at IAH. 63 in Huntsville. I think this front came down a bit further than expected today:

Getting hit pretty good right now in NW Harris County. It's been a while since we've seen storms this heavy.

This is one of the worst storms I have seen since moving here ( in Aug. 2005). Winds and rain have been non-stop and I have already spotted quite a bit of minor damage. Small limbs and leaves are everywhere, there are plastic pumpkins, loose signage, etc all over the streets and I watched as a flag was ripped right off of a flagpole! There are also a few crooked plants/bushes and a couple of snapped limbs. I would estimate top gusts were near 60mph (give or take 5mph) based on what I am seeing. Hopefully once this all stops I will be able to get a better perspective of the possible damage situation.

BTW: This is also some of the most intense rain I have seen in TX. The streets and yards are all flooded and it is STILL coming down just as hard as it was 30 minutes ago! Will it ever end?!

WOW! We haven't seen rain like this in quite a while. I'm amazed it's kept up so heavily for nearly an hour under the Bear Creek dome, and no sign of stopping yet. Not much in the way of damaging wind - mostly just straight-down pouring rain. We'll see how long the streets last with this deluge...

EWG and Yankeegirl hit the nail on the head!!! This is the most intense weather I have seen in a long long time. Winds approaching severe status and torrential rain for a long period of time. Nice!!!!

There seems to be a bit of a training effect going on...

http://www.weatherunderground.com/radar ... g_off=9999

..definitely not a good thing when it comes to flood concerns.
