Gusts to hurricane force at Mouth of Mississippi (Burrwood)

About 90 minutes ago, winds were clocked to 75 mph in a peak gusts at the BURL1 tower (USCG) located at Burrwood, Louisiana....near the Mouth of the Mississippi River.

Here's the report from the Penn State Buoy site...

30/19 BURL1 28.9 -89.3 25.1 23.9 170 41 G 47 170 65 1012.3

Translation:
June 30...2 p.m. CDT (19z)
Burrwood USCG tower (BURL1); located lat 28.9 N and 89.3 W

Temp: 25.1°C (77 F)

Dewpt: 23.9°C (74 F)

Wind south or 170° @ 47 mph sustained (41 kt); currently gusting to 54 mph (47 kt)

Peak gust in past hour 75 mph (65 kts)

Barometric Pressure: 1012.3 mb or 29.89"

Non standard.....site elevation is at sea level; but the anemometer height is 30.5 meters (100') above sea level)...which I didn't know until checking the NDBC website about five minutes ago.
