Based on the latest weather reports about the evolution of typhoon Wipha, which indicate that all remaining group stage matches can be played on 20 September, FIFA has decided to amend the FIFA Women's World Cup China 2007 match schedule as follows:
Match 22, Australia-Canada will be played on 20 September, 17:00, in Chengdu.
Match 23, China-New Zealand will be played on 20 Sep, 20:00, in Tianjin.
As announced yesterday, match 21, Norway-Ghana will be played on 20 Sept (17:00) in Hangzhou, followed by match 24, Brazil-Denmark (20:00) also on 20 Sept in Hangzhou.
Thanks to this decision, the last matches in each group will be played simultaneously, in accordance with Art. 25, paragraph 2 of the FIFA Women's World Cup China 2007 Regulations. FIFA could not apply this article yesterday due to the force majeure case - the uncertainties of the weather - and in accordance with Art. 34 ("special circumstances") of the same Regulations.
The new match schedule also complies with the requests of the participating teams.
