Sounds like y'all are doing fine so far.
I've just been lurking.
Anyone have a link to a live television feed of Humberto coverage?

Via satellite, only one of the three local stations is even on the air right now - it is KBMT. KFDM and KBTV-4 are off air - at least through Dish. The web pages for all three are still up. KFDM's local doppler radar is down.

All the wind sensors in the area are down, so we don't even know what the winds are on the back side of the storm now.

Here on Beaumont they have reported 75,000 people without power in Winnie, Port Arthur in Beaumont. We had very heavy rain and wind move through about 3:30 and recently has subsided. Early reports are power could be out at least 2 days. Good thing I got my natural gas generator after Rita. It has paid for itself over and over.

It was the KBMT minivan taking the movie of the tree on my street. He didn't get out.

Re: Hurricane HUMBERTO (GOM): Global & BAM MODELS
attallaman wrote:Checking some of the latest computer models this Thursday morning a few show Humberto making landfall in the TX/LA region; moving into LA; entering MS; then making what appears to be a turn to the S and possibly re-entering the GOM. Some take it as far to the E as the FL panhandle region. Which of the models is the most reliable considering these scenarios and is there a possibility that Humberto could make such a loop and re-enter the GOM and at what strength? A very weak TD?
I was wondering the same thing. Mostly wondering when the rains are gonna start here and if it's gonna swirl around and hit us from the backside.

I thought Seidel was in Galveston last night...not sure if he went up the coast.
None of the other networks were covering this during the overnight. This might get #2 story on the network news this morning behind the President's Iraq speech tonight.

wicked_wx_watcher wrote:The ones that do cover it don't make the connection that this is the same area Rita hit. We just continue to be forgotten. The latest from Entergy is that there are 75,000 people with out power. That number has gone up 20,000 in the last hour.
That area does have nearly 500k people. It's a good sized area but it's not a major metro unfortunately...which puts you guys at a disadvantage in terms of coverage from the MSM.

You cant ignore the fact that most of the models want to do a "Loopy Loop" with Humberto and the models this morning are staying pretty consistent with this even some of are best models such as the GFS,UKMET,and the GFDL forcast this possibility, basikly if you live in the western Gulf be on bearwatch.... (MAY not be over for Houston)
Especially considering how unpridictible Hmberto has been...

Well, that was fun! I haven't been outside yet to see what sort of damage has occured, nothing detectable from the inside, so this is better than Rita - roof tore off - I was asleep until 3 and woke to my mother in law telling me we had a Hurricane...

I wasn't aware of that model website; I had been relying on Weather Underground for my model information. That other site has noodles running every which way. Thanks for that link.wxman22 wrote:You cant ignore the fact that most of the models want to do a "Loopy Loop" with Humberto and the models this morning are staying pretty consistent with this even some of are best models such as the GFS,UKMET,and the GFDL forcast this possibility, basikly if you live in the western Gulf be on bearwatch....
