Funnel Cloud - Tampa

#1 Postby tbstorm » Wed Sep 12, 2007 7:45 pm

Snapped this pic of a funnel cloud today 9/12/07 About 730pm. The funnel cloud dissipated about 2-3 mins after it formed. I contrast enhanced the image to bring out details.

Thanks! I was watching the storm… I was kind of expecting something like a funnel cloud to form because S. Tampa was at the convergence of the storm in Brandon and a separate one over MacDill. I was expecting hail because of the greenish cast the clouds had, but I did not see any. Lightning did strike a transformer nearby, I heard the “pop” but did not see the sparks (too many trees in the way).
