Where would you say the LLC is Hurakan?
28.5N 68.5W By my estimate, nearly stationary

Looks like a trough...
Next! Not going to do anything looking like that.

Comeon Brent..No it looks like a squished turd..

I should mention that my track record last year and this year is not good, so now that I've declared it dead it'll probably develop.

Maybe http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/flt/t3/loop-vis.html turn on lat/lot I thing the important thing is that the shear looks less S and E and possibly over the LLC. Have to wait for some clouds to build to see if the shear is really easing. Looks like it though

Look at the loops, not the still images.
http://hadar.cira.colostate.edu/ramsdis ... ive_0.html
1. The center is partially obscured by some high clouds.
2. Notice how the high clouds are now moving north instead of east.
3. The storms building on the W side of the swirl seem to be sheared to the north (maybe).
It's a different pattern, but I can;t make any conclusions as to what is happening. I don't think the rotation has diminished though, and I think there's a chance it might get better defined as the day moves on.

Weak low-level center is at 28.4N/69.5W. Can see it quite clearly when I zoom in on the high res loop and put my cursor over the position.

This may not be of any significance, but looking at the visible, this is the first time I have seen any amount of convection (albeit feeble) to the west of the center. I really think this thing still has a shot if it moves into an area of lesser shear, or the shear lessens above it, which may be happening right now.

Looks like a plain old frontal trough to me

Yeah, we might have equal chances of seeing a T-storm cell collapse and snuff this out, or convection re-building over the LLC. have to wait and see. I leaning a bit to some convection getting established at this point. Have to see that boundary break all the way down and become an inflow channel to be sure I think.

storms in NC wrote:KWT wrote:Looks like some slightly moister air is being wrapped round the northern side of the system at the moment which may be why the convection has picked up a tiny bit near the center but really its not going to stop this system going poof unless something changes soon.
changes are on the way now.
What changes? As of right now 99L is still being sheared severly. You can't see the circulation because of the high clouds being blown over it by the shearing winds.

I'll never forget seeing Jeanne's naked swirl just leave the convection and disappear on the coast of the DR. I never thought she would make a comeback.

I think I see the higher clouds rotating southwest of the lower clouds but it could be an illusion. That would mean the LLC has made it to the back side of the trough where shear will start decreasing.

Is that ULL centered over Arkansas forecast to move east and eventually kick 99L out to sea?

Those coordinates are nearly identical to the cancelled recon's...
