this invest has the highest chance of impacting the east coast of the US then any invests we have had in the Atlantic to this point -- and Florida I think should watch this closely. Climatologically the next 2-3 weeks is the time of year South Florida sees big CV storms come in from the East.

This is one the eastcoast should watch closely if those models are right.

Looks like the convection on the SW side is getting detached from the LLC.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
1130 AM EDT SUN SEP 2 2007

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER IS ISSUING ADVISORIES ON HURRICANE
FELIX...LOCATED ABOUT 50 MILES NORTH OF ARUBA.

AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE...ASSOCIATED WITH A TROPICAL WAVE...IS
LOCATED ABOUT MIDWAY BETWEEN AFRICA AND THE LESSER ANTILLES. THIS
SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO MOVE WESTWARD NEAR 10 MPH FOR THE NEXT DAY OR
SO. THE ASSOCIATED SHOWER ACTIVITY IS LIMITED AND UPPER-LEVEL
WINDS ARE UNFAVORABLE FOR SIGNIFICANT DEVELOPMENT AT THIS TIME.
HOWEVER...THE CIRCULATION IS WELL-DEFINED AND THERE IS STILL SOME
POTENTIAL FOR THIS SYSTEM TO BECOME A TROPICAL DEPRESSION DURING
THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.

AN AREA OF CLOUDINESS AND SHOWERS JUST TO THE EAST OF THE GEORGIA
COAST IS ASSOCIATED WITH A DECAYING FRONTAL ZONE. THIS SYSTEM HAS
SOME POTENTIAL FOR TROPICAL DEVELOPMENT OVER THE NEXT DAY OR TWO AS
IT DRIFTS GENERALLY EASTWARD.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS.

It's a fighter, but it looks like it's journey may be almost over. Unless it can fire some convection nearer to the center, this thing will spin itself out soon. We should find out it's fate tonight.

That easterly shear still looks very strong ... don't see this doing anything today.

I'm not going to write it off, though. All it needs is a better upper-air environment.

Quite a southward move it made, no? Lost a degree and a half of latitude since yesterday.

Please explain how a tropical system can spin itself out of existence.

That's a figure of speech. Basically without convection, it becomes harder for a tropical low to sustain itself.

The convection has grown since last night, therefore I would not be quick to bid adieu to this area.
