Dean wobbling WSW.....VERY BAD NEWS for Chetumal....

And guess what....Dean STILL looks to be deepening on sat....deep convection continuing to wrap around the eye.

Folks, whoever is up watcing this, remember this moment. Hurricanes like this are RARE.

Folks I hope whoever is watching this now understand what it is like to have a truly powerful hurricane hit.

I mean, with all due respect to Rita, Katrina, Wilma, all US landfalling hurricane since 1992....they are children compared to Dean. Again, remember this, hurricanes like this are RARE.

You guys should look at the CIMSS analysis maps.

Explains why this has rapidly intensified.

A guy who knows even a bit of met... will be shocked. An IDEAL pattern with 3 well-defined, intense outflow channels, incredible upper diffluence, an UL anticyclone in an ideal position, and very strong low-level convergence.

This may be a stupid question, but...

I know that cyclones HAVE to have warm water to survive. However, could the 'inertia' of Dean's incredible strengthening keep him stronger than normal even over the Yucatan? Or, in other words, would he spin down slower?
