yep, every island except Puerto Rico i believe has it's own government issue watches/warnings. Puerto Rico has NHC issue their warnings I believe.

Yeah, same goes for the U.S. Virgin Islands, all are U.S. territories.

Yes,The San Juan NWS coordinates with NHC to issue watches and warnings.

Looks like an eyewall is definitely trying to form on the last few IR images.

This run has Dean stronger thru the E. Carib. and a little more north thru hour 54.

this upper air pattern just looks soooo complicated to me...i mean where is the high because it is ill defined. At 54 hr it looks like it is centers NE of the Bahamas...but there is seemingly Low pressure digging into Arkansas/LA? FLOW in the Gulf is Counter Clockwise.

then there is the x over miami...what the heck

Well, since no one wants that one, I'll add that the GFS 00z run degrades it and runs it west as a ULL on its 48 hour run. So whatever it is it shrinks, moves west and moves out of the way for a ridge east of Florida.

You might let him know. But don't scare him. It is so far off right now. But you are the best judge of how he will react.

The 'x' is a upper level low. Very low shear inthe NW Carib.

Well, he is a doctor with two clinics and a multitude of houses spread around the Brownsville area, so I doubt he will leave. I will let him know to be on guard...

The best info that I could tell you on that wx_follwer is just to tell him (your uncle) to keep up to date on Dean. Still several days away from Brownsville and a lot of things can happen to the track.

Nice avatar, ExBailbonds!

Weakness over FL is backing west, ridge building in. This run will be much like the others.
