New Orleans Heat Index High Today Was 122F
It was HOT today...actual high was 99F at Audubon Park in Uptown and 97F at the Airport (a new record high). It is expected to get even hotter this weekend...Carl Arredondo says we can expect to see some triple digit highs showing up around the area over the next 3 days....Can't wait until this is over. I'm getting tired of this heat.

I've been to New Orleans in the summer, it is really humid! It's also expected to be hot in Houston this weekend.

Well, it's midnight and temps aren't looking like they will be dropping too much this evening. Looks like tomorrow will be either as hot or even hotter than today:

Re: New Orleans Heat Index High Today Was 122F
Currently framing a new home in SW Mississippi.....about 160 miles north of NOLA. It got so damned hot the last couple of days we just shut down around 2PM. It's in a very rural area. The only water we have is a new well recently punched.....yesterday we discovered the water quality of the well had failed.....some sort of bacteria. Sometimes you just cannot win. Every August I swear I'll never work another project in the deep south during this ridiculous heat. Taking today off......!!

Walk cancel for this weekend Bre. Don't know if i'm going to fan day or not. Daughter has sorority rush and she's in charge of the first days party which is sunday. I don't know if she'll be excused from ragin' jazz for sorority or not.
Make south central louisiana's forecast to be 100 saturday, sunday and monday now. I'm sweating already!

Well, the Bay family's luck continues to be as rotten as always: the A/C unit stopped working last night! In the middle of a heat wave and we lose A/C! DH believes it's the fan motor and we're all praying it isn't the compressor (from what I've been told, the compressor is more $$ than a fan motor, we'll see...) Thank goodness the A/C man is due here shortly! He and my brother-in-law are buddies, so we're lucky in that respect (so maybe our luck ain't as bad as I think it is!). My stubborn mother absolutely refused to leave the house (we spent the night with some friends who had room for us). She would rather suffer in silence, I think. Either that or it gives her a good story to tell her friends at church tomorrow! At any rate, hopefully our bad luck will abate and the A/C man can fix our unit tout de suite! I hope no one else out there is having the same problem, though the A/C man told me they were handling massive loads of calls. Stay cool if ya can, y'all!

Well, our A/C was repaired yesterday morning and it took our poor unit all day to recover. I am so grateful the A/C tech was able to fix it. We were melting at 9AM, I can't imagine how we would have been at 2PM!
Here's yesterday's temperature data form our local NWS:
101! And our low barely dropped below 80. Today's high is expected be about as hot-- 99/100-- and we have an excessive heat warning, again. The forecast calls for highs in the upper 90s thru Tues. Then we "cool down" to the mid-90s mid-week. I can't wait for the cool spell!
I'm a Southern girl, born and bred, but there just aren't enough mint juleps to handle this heat!

Oh Lord, I am so sorry. Thank goodness you were able to get it fixed. I have a dog recovering from heartworm treatment. Losing my ac right now is a great fear.

Re: New Orleans Heat Index High Today Was 122F
We hit 102F today....started at 6AM but quit at noon....spent the remainder of the day in air conditioned rooms reading magazines that have the recipients address cut out. On the way out, I noticed roofers quitting at noon.....and on the way home they were climbing back on the roof at 5PM. They got it figured out!
