Deschler, NE Tornado

#1 Postby weatherwunder » Sun Jun 22, 2003 10:06 pm

A tornado touched down in Deschler, NE about 6:15pm tonight. Rescue crews are there now. There have been reports of injuries.

I have family in Deschler, and I have been trying to call after I found out about the storm, but the lines are apparently down.

I am sorry Jeff. It was like that here too after the May 4th tornado. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Just heard from the family. Everyone is alright. Some damage to their home, but nothing serious.

So glad your aunt and uncle are okay, WW. What an agonizing time ... waiting by the phone.

Incredible! ... 4 tornadoes in the same town. :o

I am also glad to hear you aunt and uncle are fine, Jeff.

The activity last night (Sunday night) was isolated considering what the United States weather was overall in the last 24 hours.

I am so glad your family is fine!!! Went through the same thing with Hurricane Opal and my p's. Fortunately I was able to get through to them!

Watching those storms on the radar last night my mouth just dropped to the floor!! They looked as brutal as they were!!!

This death was the first confirmed tornado death in Nebraska since 1988.
