I have been on the board for a long time. I would like to say it is the best board there is by far. I have learned a lot in the years and still learning. And the Mods have done a great job of trying to keep the board going in a order fashion.
But I would like to know is how do you reallyyy know that a person is a professional Met? I have read some post on here and I would have my doubts that they are professional Mets. So how do you make sure that is who they say they are?
I could be the Queen of sheba LOL No just joking. But I would like to know how you check?

Well in my case, I'd have no problem proving that with documentation since I have my degree plus my personal personnel records from 30+ years of Government service as a Met.

I asked this question 3 months ago in the Questions Forum once, but never got a good answer. I was wondering how you check that exactly over the Internet?

We ask for references whom we check with. We ask for other corrobaorating information, which can range from college transcripts(for our new graduates)to actual employer references for the private sector mets. I have actually met a few of the pro-mets we have on site or have dealt with them over the years in situations that make it very obvious there is no deception. We do know quite a few NWS mets we can check with for the public sector, and we have sources in other areas that we check with if we feel then need.
Is it a perfect system? No, but we haven't had any frauds that we are aware of yet. In fact we have had a few refuse the pro-met tag for various reasons when we have determined they are qualified for it.

Thank you, this question has been on my mind for a bit.
