Your Most Memorable Storm2k Moment

#1 Postby Category 5 » Mon Jul 30, 2007 11:44 am

Post your most memorable moments in the forums.

For me, it's gotta be the Greensburg tornado, staying up nearly all night psting the warnings and damage reports.

Katrina comes a close second.

2004 - TS Bonnie and Hurricane Charley. The S2K Chat Room was so packed, you couldn't keep up with postings. I just sat and read (since I had little if anything to contribute, just hopes that everyone would be safe). Tracking hurricanes was interesting, somewhat exciting....until Katrina. Now I find myself half into this, to be honest, not wanting any to form.

I for some DUMB reason didnt become a member until after most of the 2005 season.

Greensburg is a front runner as are the hurricane season countdowns at chat.

I have to say Katrina, prior...during and after that storm was just an incredible experience on the forum.

I've only been here a short time, I wish I was a member when Hurricane Wilma hit here.

My most memorable moment was when I was chatting with y'all during the hurricane season countdown party, lol, that was like new years eve... :double:

I have 2 memorable moments.

1. The night Wilma strengthened into a record Category 5 hurricane. When the recon reports were coming in, everyone was wondering if they were accurate at first.

2. Greensburg tornado

New one

In the Chatroom Late monday night/Early tuesday morning watching Category 5 Hurricane Dean plow toward the Yucatan.

We had a great bunch of chatters, and Coredesat's recon plotting made it all the more exciting.

What a night

Storm2k has so many pleasant moments. I guess it was when Frack and i discovered we were twins!Image or was it when as a new member, Bre pm'd me and teased me, figured out who i was waaaay before i figured her out Image or was it when over 100 of us were in the chatroom nervously awaiting Katrina Image or when Rita was nearing and many of y'all comforting me and others from coastal louisiana and texas Image. There's so many things that stand out in my mind that it's hard to pick just one thing. So...... i salute all of you for making s2k such a great place that holds alot memories in my heart. Image

Hmmm....why aren't all my smileys showing?

Waking up at 2 in the morning and finding out through S2k that Wilma had become a Cat. 5 hurricane literarily overnight. That was incredible!!!

I'm still relatively new here (despite the 732 posts), and I have no big memories. I can't wait to make some though, I don't plan on leaving any time soon.

Tough to say ...

Watching Wilma bomb overnight, probably.
