Looks like most of Florida is covered by this watch. Effective until 9:00pm. Stay safe everyone!

I was just about to post this.. 12Z soundings came in unstable and it looks like a very very active Afternoon for Central and South Florida.

Will this be a seabreeze event or is this because of the front? Will I get anything other than what I have now?

Intense lightning storm just popped up, quite literally out of nowhere over St. Pete. For a time there was nearly constant lightning.

All the more poignant considering that 3 people got zapped yesterday in Brandon & Trasure Island.

Just checking the doppler, there is a large mass of thunderstorms consolidating out there... if this holds together (don't see why it won'y given the moist atmosphere) St. Pete/Tampa/Sarasota could be looking at a urban flood threat as it moves on shore.

Well, we have been POUNDED since about 2:20 here in East Central Palm Beach County. We are in West Boynton Beach and winds have easily gusted over 60 mph in a Severe Thuderstorm that was here from about 2:45-3:05 PM.
Simultaneous lightning and thunder and strong winds in excess of 60 accompanied it.
Pool overflowing and storms now; an hour later.

Video of the heavy rain. It's not raining now, and the accumulated rainfall is 1.50 inches.
