She appears to ME to be one that adds her political commentary to anything she is involved in regardless.

The Rosie speculation was apparently a media creation. Variety is saying that Fremantle Media has no interest in having her as host.

Re: Rosie........host the Price is Right!!
As far as host, the only reliable sources I've seen say it's still Newton, Hamilton, Steines. Some say O'Hurley.
This article mentions those names as being considered for the Job.. The article also says on her Blog Rosie says she will be talking to the Price is right people this week.. Yuk.. I like the idea of George Carlin being the host also lol..

On Conan O'brian last night, he said that Bob Barker was the one who wanted Roise to do the show and was the first person to suggest. Does this make any sense since the total oppisite has already been said?

Conan is wrong. Barker was simply asked what he thought of Rosie hosting the show. He said he thought she'd be capable. He likely would have said exactly the same thing about anyone else. Furthermore, he wasn't the first to suggest it. Rosie is the most-wanted star in the television industry right now and her connection was only natural with such a high profile job opening.

Re: Rosie........host the Price is Right!!
Drew Carey, come on down! You're the next contender to replace Bob Barker as host of "The Price is Right." CBS and producer FremantleMedia North America have talked to the comic about hosting the long-running daytime gameshow, people familiar with the situation said. Eye already has a relationship with Carey, who's been tapped to host the net's upcoming primetime quizzer "Power of 10" (Daily Variety, March 21). Nothing's been decided about who ultimately will inherit Barker's skinny microphone, however. Carey is one of several people who have been mentioned as candidates, including Rosie O'Donnell and George Hamilton. If Carey did get the "Price" gig, he'd likely have to pull double duty on "Power," which premieres in August. But such cross-daypart synergies have worked before (think Regis Philbin on "Live!" and "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire").

Are they just throwing random names out there?
Meanwhile, CBS has the repeat schedule through the second week in August and they are still on January episodes then, so it looks like they are preparing for a huge delay in the start of Season 36.

2nd to last paragraph mentions the possible candidates(Carey, Steines, Hamilton) and cons from each one.

Rosie Wasn’t Right For 'Price' … And Who Is
At the GSN pool party, “The Price Is Right” announcer Rich Fields confirmed Rosie O’Donnell didn’t get the “Right” hosting job because she demanded radical changes to the show.
Media outlets first reported that O’Donnell and CBS couldn’t come to terms partly because the former talk show host wanted to move the veteran game show production from Los Angeles to New York City. Then O’Donnell admitted in an interview this week that CBS didn’t want her because she said she wanted to “gay up” the show with a chorus line of male dancers replacing Barker’s Beauties.
But Fields claimed O’Donnell also wanted to reduce the number of episodes shot per week down to four and spend more time chatting with contestants instead of focusing on the games, which would have slowed the pace of the show.
“CBS met with her for one lunch, she wanted to make all those changes, and that was all they needed to hear,” he said.
Industry sources said “Entertainment Tonight” co-anchor Mark Steines, reality host Mark Walberg, GSN game show host Todd Newton and actor Drew Carey are still in the mix for the “Price” gig. CBS went after Ryan Seacrest, sources said, but his price tag was too high. Carey is also asking for a higher rate than CBS wants to pay at the moment, but the network is still interested in him. Steines doesn’t have any game show experience, but tested really well. A couple sources claim (and others deny) that Steines was verbally offerred the gig before Rosie unexpectedly threw her hat in the ring. At any rate, he’s still considered a leading contender. Fields said George Hamilton also tested for the job and was very personable and smooth, except he relied too heavily on cue cards and couldn’t keep the games straight.
At any rate, the show needs to find a new host very soon. “Price” usually ramps up production by mid-July for its fall season. The new host needs to run through a couple weeks of practice shows to become familiar with the 77 “Price” games before shooting the premiere, which needs to be completed by mid-August. Staffers are being told to expect to return to work by the end of the month, suggesting producers and the network are near a decision. CBS declined to comment.

I love that one.
I hope it's not true, I can't stand listening to her, let alone look at her.
She just annoys me to death. I wish she'd just go away, how she keeps getting work I'll never know.

Re: Rosie........host the Price is Right!!
I think Wayne Brady would be a better choice than Rosie . He is currently doing Don't Forget The Lyrics show on tv now.
