The National Weather Service Has Issued A Flash Flood Watch For Coastal Mississippi And Portions Of Southeast Louisiana Until Noon CDT Today.
The Following Parishes In Louisiana Are In The Flash Flood Watch Area...St. Tammany...Orleans...St. Charles...St. John The Baptist...Lafourche...Plaquemines...Terrebonne...St. Bernard And Jefferson.
And In Mississippi...The Following Counties Of Hancock...Harrison And Jackson.
A Weak Cold Front Draped Along The Gulf Coast From Mobile To Near Lafayette Louisiana Will Become Stationary This Morning. Very Moist Tropical Air Situated South Of The Frontal Boundary Will Become Unstable With Daytime Heating This Morning. Showers And Thunderstorms Are Expected To Rapidly Develop Around Or Shortly After Sunrise This Morning Across Extreme Southeast Louisiana And Coastal Mississippi And Become Widespread In Coverage Through Mid-Morning.
Torrential Rains Are Likely To Occur With The Showers And Thunderstorms With Rainfall Rates Of Between Two To Three Inches Per Hour Anticipated From Slow Moving Cells. The High Rates Will Be Capable Of Producing Rapid Ponding Of Water On Streets And Low Lying Areas This Morning.
