Is this deep convection part of the diurnal phase of the Yucatan or it is a new tropical wave but whatever it is you will have to watch it due to climotology area that is favored.

Just part of the diurnal phase... Its done the same thing everyday... But I do agree.. Something that close to home we need to keep our eye on.

This one is strong enough it is expected to persist and continue NW into the coast of Mexico again and provide some heavy rains in the next 24-36 hrs. No tropical development is expected though.

It's diurnal, but the energy is part of the strong wave that was in the islands early last week. Most of the convection got forced into central America Wed. Night or Thurs around an UL.

The whole Mexican Coast has been weird the last 5-8 days. Just when you think something's going to deepen in the EPAC, the energy returns to land, then into the BOC, then back to land, then refires in the EPAC. The models have done a good job generally sensing the energy and general troughiness down there.

I'll be watching this feature over the next few days... Tropical Development is not likely, but you never know what will happen, especially in the Tropics! :o

I noticed this area last night and I have to say that it looked very impressive on the IR loop. It has a big red ball of convection and has actually held together over night. No matter if it developes or not I am sure it will help to aid in more rain for areas that are already soaked and could use a break right now. Some of the models are hinting at bringing something across FL. in the next 36 Hrs, but we all know that may never happen. Never the less it has been an intersting season thus far and I know that it will only get more intersting as we get into the meat of the season. I haven't been bored so far, but glad to be back on line as the recent storms we have expericenced here in FL got to my PC. now I am typing away sitting at my imac until I can get my pc up and running again.
