Donald Trump to NBC: You can't fire me... I quit!

#1 Postby Brent » Fri May 18, 2007 8:25 pm

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Donald Trump, whose low-rated reality show "The Apprentice" was left off the new prime-time schedule unveiled this week by NBC, says the network can't fire him -- he quits.

The real estate mogul issued a statement on Friday saying he has informed the U.S. television network he is "moving on from 'The Apprentice' to a major new TV venture," though he declined to elaborate.

I didn't realize it was low-rated. I thought it was a popular show, however, I didn't watch it.

In the first season it was. Actually was in the Top 5! The last 2 seasons, however, not so much. It's been stuck in 3rd or 4th for awhile. This past season averaged about 8 million viewers, pretty sad. I used to watch it(and loved it) but it got old quick.

Yeah, in two different timeslots.

Of course, NBC is in bad shape right now(and I don't think it'll get much better in the Fall), so a lot of their shows get about the same ratings.

Well, although he may have quit on NBC, he is making his latest appearance this weekend in the Dallas area. But me and my family have better things to do than to visit Trump.

Hillarious Rosie pic, BTW!

moving it to 10pm on a sunday night was what killed it imo. Trump always preached he hates quitters..he must be eating his words now.

I'll bet it has something to do with those infomercials. I've seen Trump hawking his latest "get-rich-like-me" book on late night television.
