Kitchen Appliances

#1 Postby Janice » Mon Apr 30, 2007 4:25 am

What kitchen appliance, small, or aparatus is something you cannot live without in your cooking?

Me... I could not live without my Kitchenaid Food Processor. I use it almost every supper meal. I make salads and it cuts and slices all the veggies just right. It also grates my cheese and onions for cheeseburgers.

Couldn't think of not having a microwave oven. I also NEED my cuban coffee in the morning, so the coffee maker is a must have item.

I couldn't do without my oven, I hate using electricity (threw out my microwave and electric taster)I like to cook the old fashioned way; knead with my hands, use my old mixer, use an old-fashioned perculator (the one on the stove) mix hamberger meat with my hands...guess I'm just old fashioned :D

It'd have to be the microwave. From thawing, to reheating, to cooking. It's the one kitchen appliance that is used every day.

My J A Heckles knives, after having them for 5 months I can't believe I was using those sorry old dull knives I had. Makes my job so much easier and go twice as quick. They were expensive but well worth it, I plan to have them forever.

I only have two real good knives, small for veggies, etc. I really need to get some new ones. Ours are older than the hills. I will wait till I move so I can add them to the curb..... :D

aint that the truth! my santoku alone cost over $100, but it's one of the finest tools ever. It too is a Henckel knife.

Hey, mine is the same brand as you guys. My little knife. It is German and there is a little man on the blade. I will have to remember the name when I buy new, thanks.

The fridge and freezer -- I like fresh fruits and veggies too much. And I like to make big batches of soup and meals that I can freeze for later consumption.

Yes, we love our freezers too. I always fill it up with ice cubes for cane season, just in case. We have a very old large chest freezer and it is going to the curb too when we move. I will get one of those small square ones.
