Hair Cuts

#1 Postby Janice » Fri Apr 20, 2007 6:40 am

John Edwards supposely paid $400 for a haircut.

What is the most you ever spent at one time at the beauty salon?

I have had the works done at a salon, but the worse I got charged was when we stayed at a hotel and I got a cut and dry. The blow dry alone on the bill was $25. I was shocked. John just laughed and said it was a learning experience. I think the total bill for cut and dry was $65.

I cut my own hair.

Of course, there isn't much there to cut ... ;-)

I just let my parents do it to save me some money, and they did a darn good job on my hair cuts.

Usually my wife does it. It's getting easier year-by-year. Otherwise the most I would pay would be $8 at the barbershop around the corner.

That would be the $75.00 (excluding very generous tip) for a Harley-worthy up-do when Dave and I remarried in 2005. And yes, it really was Harley-worthy!

$125.00 for cut, color, highlighting. It was a gift from my mama. I felt bad because the color was so awful, I had to redye it at home the next week.

I've never spent more than $10.

My hairstyle is pretty simple,I let my surfer hair grow out and then get a nice close cut every 6 months.

The most I've spent was probably $10. Normally, however, I just cut my own hair.

My barber charges $10.50.

I once had to go to someone else when I was out of town and paid $18.

The barber that cuts my hubby's hair has been cutting my sons's hair since their first haircuts and now he cuts my grandson's hair. Three generations , how many barbers can say that?

Probaby around $45 for a cut, dye & highlights. If I wait too long between colorings she has to do my whole head to cover the grey and then do the highlights, which costs more. And I need to get in there soon!

My father-in-law, husband and son go to the same barber too. I tease them about the barber only being able to cut hair one way since their haircuts all look alike!

Every six weeks i get a trim and roots touch up. My colorist only does partial hilites twice a year. So I range from $75 to $125. My daughter pays about $35 for her haircut and has a hilite probably every 4 months for an additional $50.

My costs are very similar to CajunMama's daughter's costs. I get highlights about every 3-4 months and that (along with the cut and blow-dry) costs about $100. The in-between shampoo-cut-and-blow-drys cost like $35. It's my one splurge. I have co-workers and some friends who get manicures and pedicures and massages. I couldn't do that, but I do enjoy being pampared every now and then at the hair salon.
BTW, I cannot imagine a haircut that is worth $400!
