TX Winter Wx Threat # 11-- sleet and snow in a lot of Tx/La

Well I have stayed up as long as I can (going on 2 in the morning). We had some heavy precip move through and we are now catching a break. It was nothing but a cold rain...not even a sleet pellet. It doesn't look like we will see any snow down this way. I sure was hoping for at least a few big flurries but it's a no go.

have you looked at the doppler? its all blue and purple.... if you have the snow settings on,.... is any of it hitting the ground? and there is a round just about to move into the area...

Never saw a snowflake here in Austin but we sure had plenty of sleet Saturday evening, off and on. It finally cut out around 10 pm or so.

I am a bit upset about last night. We never really got that sleet/snow the forecast called for, instead we saw more of the same...rain mixed with a few sleet pellets. Pretty depressing when you are expecting more sleet/snow. Hard to believe that in Lufkin they had 2" of snow on the ground. Also, snow accumulated on roofs in Mobile, AL! Why did my area have to be spared from the white stuff? I guess I will wait until next winter for another shot at some snow...

Hopefully I will finally get my snowstorm then.

Kind of a slap in the face, huh EWG? lol

I got up at 5:30 and (gonna have to stretch this one big time) went outside with my flashlight. Dancing in front of my flash light were what I would call little snow grains. It was not floating mist because I actually followed one of the snow grains with the light. If I turned the flashlight off, I didn't see any falling with the illumination of the front porch light. I looked like a desperate pathetic soul...I'm glad my wife didn't witness this.LOL!!!

Don't worry, we've got a LONG Cane season ahead of us. More anxiety filled adventures lie ahead.

Well, only a trace of snow fell here in DFW, but even more good news, temperatures have not fallen below freezing. So in a day or 2, we'll be back to normal.

Whew !!!!! I thought I was the only one that did that kind of stuff. No sleet in Spring Branch that I am aware of, but definitely saw the little snow grains a few times.

Tyler co got actual snow flurries for about 3 whole minutes.Most of it was freezeing rain with sleet mixed& a few stray snowflakes....some good sized.While they we're still calling the snow line north of Livingston,then they changed that to Clevland.It was 42 degrees during that brief snowfall.it had been holding pretty good at 46 till then.It was 38 later that evening when snapped photos.

It was a nice tease.It's my BIL fault cause he came down to fish Lake Fork.Every april he comes down we get rain& cold& he goes home we warm back up....this year.He left snow.
