"The only thing constant in our lives is change." I have a feeling a lot is going to change. We are listening to what you guys are saying and you will see that soon.

Alot of points you talked about I have no control over, like the rules being relaxed. The only thing I could reply to was the politics.

These guys are lucky they don't have to moderate a Climate Forum...

Now that is rough...

I apologize for the brief "dissapearance" of this thread.. Please carry on :-) I am sorry I have not been around much in a good while, so I do take big blame for things running astray.. If anyone has any specific complaints, no matter who/what they involve please feel free to PM me. We don't necessarily need to use this thread to call out individuals, but you can feel free to PM me with anything that is on your mind.. I am going to go finish reading through some of your posts in this thread now and will be back to you :-)

P.S. Happy bunny day (soons)

I've been at this forum for over 2 years, with a 9 month break. I got banned for 2 weeks for changing my user name and 9 months, for trying to rejoin, I admit I was wrong, but still ever since I was allowed back I have not wanted to post here. Everything from the no polls, to the no post count rules, bugged me, even though those things have been reversed. I will say that I do respect this forum and I enjoy the thoughts posted here, and this is one of the best forums, but IMO the rules are to much.

Thanks Janie. That really means alot. I was told by a few that this thread should have never been started or that they did not agree with it. Well, I wanted to know and understand what was going on.

I am not afraid to post here. I just stay away from anything that I believe will likely get my blood pressure up. Being angry does no one any favors. Those who are afraid, I still don't get why.

If you read some of the posts even in this thread, you'll see people walking on eggshells when they're just voicing their opinion. IMO, that's not a healthy atmosphere for open and honest discussion. I posted in this thread because I thought it was a great idea, and I really feel that the powers that be should take the constructive criticism here very seriously.

The rules here are more restrictive than asking for respect of other members. There is too much control over the member experience, and it's frustrating.

*sweeping eggshells out of the way*

Like I've said a dozen times -- communication. Open, honest communication.

Please, if anyone has an issue with me, have at it. I've already said what I wanted to say and I'll say what I want to say to staff in the mod forum.

I don't walk on eggshells, and at times I have some unpopular views and opinions on certain issues. I've yet to be warned or banned. We're all human and therefore are prone to get upset or act a bit rashly. I don't find the board regulations to be all that restrictive. It just hasn't really been my experience, though people's experiences will vary.

What do you mean by "control over the member experience"? I for one don't want the board to become a flame-for-all. I've seen this happen one time too many. Storm 2K is too valuable a resource...care has to be taken here.

I have been here in the past, before losing my pass word (doh). I've seen the troll invasions and the kinds of posts spewed in the aftermath of the big storms over the last few years. I can easily see flame wars erupting over tropical systems or politics/religion. Too restrictive? I tend to think not, but thats strictly my opinion.

This thread was created to clear the air among everybody. For some, doing this is not good enough. For those of you that have voiced your concerns and frustrations we appreciate it. We would rather have you post your thoughts instead of going to others and letting things fester.

Also, there are 3 Admins that are still here and in full control. 8-)

Happy Easter everyone.

"Control over the member experience" to me means rules that limit the open & honest discussion that would occur between people in real life. I would never advocate a "flame-for-all", but certainly there should be a balance struck between the two. People are shocked that this thread is even here, and that says something.
