February 14th: Ice Storm
February 21st: Thunderstorms

Talk about a change in the weather.

Anyone else getting a taste?

Yup! All of our snowpack is just about gone. We had a few thunderstorms Monday night and heavy rain.

I hope we receive snowfall just once more.

And finally, I don't recall ice remaining on trees and power lines as long as it did last week. Here in the Ohio Valley, it's usually gone in a day since our temps tend to greatly fluctuate in Winter.

We were sitting well below freezing for a while, but yesterday we saw a high of 56F and day was in the upper 40s. While a good chunk of our snow is melting (we've had snow cover since January 13th), it's almost gone. That will be short lived, I believe. We're under a winter storm watch now; looking at 6-12" of snow this weekend.

It's FABULOUS!!!

We really only had about half of the season filled with real winter weather, but boy was it tough! I'm enjoying the milder temps now. :D

Tucson went from 80 to below 60 in ONE DAY-also typical for here in the Winter.

Temperature fluctuations of 20 degrees around here are pretty common.

Just earlier this winter it was in the 70s at around 4 PM and by midnight it was sleeting at around 33.

What a difference a few hours make. As of this afternoon, the forecast was for 1" of snow overnight, another 1" Saturday, and then get 6-8" Saturday night into Sunday. Now, we have a winter storm warning for 6-9" overnight, and then still another 6-10" tomorrow night. I just took the dogs for a walk (can't keep the Siberians inside on a night like this!) and some of my neighbors have a couple feet of snow drifted up against their garages already. Almost all of our previous snowcover melted this past week (was almost 50 on Wednesday), but I don't mind seeing snow instead of the grass and mud.
