that's what I meant...this week. Sorry about the confusion.

I guess for some reason I still imagined this as being the weekend.

Joe Bastardi wants to keep hope alive too it seems. Here is a brief quote from a post of his this afternoon:

6) System moving across the deep south may lead to ice/snow event Texas to gulf coast Wednesday into Thursday. Freeze threat Thursday night in the lower Rio Grande valley, Friday night into central Florida

We should know a lot more by the time S2K's move is over...

See everyone then!

All that winter precip is to the N of SE TX. We've made it to 42º and partly sunny here this afternoon so far.

Haven't gotten past 39° here today. NWS lowered the high earlier to only 42° - I don't think we'll make that, but it's better than the 52° they showed for today just a few days ago.

And the wind chill makes it feel a bit colder... BRRRR

Looks like freezing temps for lows all over SE TX for the next 2-3 nights. At least one night should be into the mid to upper 20's depending on location.

It looks like tonight will be the coldest night of the year for much of Texas. Many places will fall to the mid and lower 20's, in fact this might be our coldest night (in some places) in a couple of years. If the winds die down tonight, I wouldn't be surprised to see some areas in the hill country drop into the teens overnight and lower 20's in Austin.

I don't think I am going to go watch the Mardi Gras parade tomorrow night even though I had it planned since the beginning of the week. Temps are supposed to be down to 30 degrees here tomorrow night and it will just be too miserable to wait for a parade in. Yesterday, I went swimming with temps in the lower 40's. Heated indoor pool of course. :D

Rockport on the Coastal Bend reported an official trace of snow this am as did Lake Jackson to the S of Houtson. May have been one or two flurries elsewhere in the metro area, but I didn't see any or hear of any other reports.

WOW, with some trickery I was able to login - yeah!!!

As I posted on another "local" board, I am expecting the coldest night of the winter for us. Mid 20's north of Beltway 8, 28-30 in the city itself, and 30-32 at Hobby and points SE.

Note: For February 16, the record low at IAH is 28F. We will likely tie or break this record.

Unfortunately this will be a hard freeze for most of SE Texas so protect your plants and turn the pool pumps on!!

Even down here in Baytown it's 35.0 at 9:30pm
Going to be a frosty one tonight. We haven't had a real freeze here yet. It did get a little soft ice (slush) on the truck that one night.
