BREAKING NEWS!!!
I just received word from a highly placed source within the Touchstone/ABC family that ABC and Disney executives are currently considering the option of firing Isaiah Washington from Grey's Anatomy, effective immediately, without having him appear in any kind of farewell episode.
According to this reliable source, if the network does follow through with this option, the producers are likely to run a full-screen announcement at the beginning of the first Burke-less episode that announces Isaiah Washington is no longer part of the show.
I'm also told by various sources that the loss of Preston Burke is not an easy task for Grey's writing staff to deal with, given that he has a major storyline (including a life-changing event) coming in the next few episodes that airs during February sweeps. Those episodes have already been shot.

Like we wouldn't notice?

Funny indirect mention of this whole GA's controversy/brouhaha/trouble. If we weren't taking Anne Heche here, the focus would probably remain on GA! Wonder if Isaiah will send flowers to Anne? LOL

Trees a Crowd: Anne Heche Drops Hubby... for Costar?
Stop me if this starts sounding vaguely familiar to faithful readers of the Ausiello Report: Anne Heche has split from her husband of five years, Coley Laffoon, her rep confirms for ET — and supposedly as the result of an affair she has been having with her hunky Men in Trees scene partner, James Tupper. A rep for Tupper confirms that he and his wife split in November, but would not comment on the rumored on-set romance.
Well, at least this diverts some attention from Isaiah, right, ABC? Right...?

SERIOUSLY!

Gonna be hard to fire Isaiah now.
I guess the "mystery" next week will carry over for all of February Sweeps. Looks interesting. I've heard that one episode airing will make the Super Bowl episode look tame. Not sure if it's next week though...

All-new episode tonight at 9pm ET/PT on ABC! What happens following not one, but TWO proposals, and what happens to all the doctors during a surgery?
FWIW... next week(not tonight) starts a 3-episode arc. It is reportedly a huge event, much bigger than the Super Bowl 2-parter last year and will, according to ABC, "challenge the interns of Seattle Grace and Grey's fans like never before".
Very few specific details are avaliable.

Could be something with Meredith's mom, since she is a big name at SGH. Or, could be something with Burke.
My money's on Dr. Grey (the mom).
