The family is planning on taking me to Wimberley for my b-day to stay in a cabin from the 25th through the 28th of this month. Are we expecting another surge of arctic air around that time period?
I was just making a forecast for next week. Another strong surge of Arctic air will blast down the Plains early next week. As the upper trof moves into west Texas on Monday (23rd), a low should form on the front out in the Gulf off the TX coast Monday afternoon. That means widespread rain along the coast and mixed precip over central Texas Monday night into Tuesday. But the upper trof FINALLY movese east of Houston by next Thursday morning (25th) and it's looking sunny and cool for your trip. Probably lows in the low 20s or so and highs in the 40s for the 25-26. A little warmer the 27-28. Cold, but a lot better than the current weather.

We had freezeing rain early this morning a good bit of it came around 6 am.I have glaze.on metal surfaces (love the grills new look) Temps hanging around 29-32 but should start moveing upwards (so we hear.......drip,drip,drip) Schools we;re on a 1 hour delay again.
I'm ready for last weekends weather...sorry I complained about running the AC & how muggy it was.I guess 82 wasn't bad....compaired to this.

It has been a interesting day with off and on snow showers today in my area. It is about 28 degrees F. I guess NWS/TV Mets were wrong about no accumulation. Even last night they were saying that in the DFW area was going to be on the northern edge, and thus the area would only receive occasional snow with no accumulation. I guess the NAM caught the much more potent shortwave as it showed a much more potent upper level disturbance on the 00z run last night (with precipitation hitting our area).

Ice all over the place on elevated surfaces. ZR mixed with PL nice bumpy crust with fairly large pellets. Truck completely glazed over, roofs, trees, power lines, mailbox, ect.
Acc looks to be around .10 of an inch maybe a little more. Not sure how to post pics on here..any help or I could e-mail them someone and let them post them
It's easy to post pics - Photobucket.com and open an account, Upload your pics, edit your account settings so the pics are public, then copy the link they give you and paste it here. Like this (took this yesterday):

Imageshack is easy too and there's a link below the reply box.
Email or pm me if you need more help.
In other news, as Portastorm said we're seeing more ice accumulation. Our driveway has a thin layer of ice with standing water on top and patch ice, our cedar elm limbs are coated with a thick layer of ice (yesterday they just had a glaze of ice). It's 30F and raining.
Our Winter Storm Warning ends at noon. My husband is supposed to go into work then - (already delayed twice this am) but I don't see how he'll make it up the hill to get to the end of our street. We have a Winter Weather Advisory active till 7pm then something else - I'm getting loopy!!!
Will try to take more pics.
I heard from my nephew in Aubrey and my sister in Lewisville about the precip

So I will be playing EverQuest II this afternoon........
I just drove in to work. Roads aren't too bad, just a bit slushy. We've had more sleet than snow. Take a pic and post it.

Well I'm back on line after a power outage that lasted for four hours. All I can say is that it really taught me something.
1. You can't have enough hot coffee on hand,
2. You can't have enough hot coffee on hand.
3. I'll bet you can figure out what numero trace is.
4. I also learned just how quickly the temp drops inside an uninsulated condo.

Just drive in to downtown Austin from my little nest north of town. The bridges are ice covered and dangerous! The roads in the northern part of town are slushy and wet with some ice patches but not too bad. Once you get closer to downtown Austin, the streets become just wet.
With schools and most businesses closed, downtown Austin looks like a ghost town at the moment ... and interesting sight indeed.
Y'all be safe out there.
