Useful Weather Software

#1 Postby TrekkerCC » Fri Jan 12, 2007 12:28 pm

As the winter storm is coming upon people in Texas, Oklahoma, and the great plains, I found a useful weather software out there on the web that is free for non-commercial use. It is freeware (again for non-commercial use) put out by University of Oklahoma/Oklahoma Climatological Survey.

It can be found here: http://www.ocs.ou.edu/software/

The software can download data from the NWS or the Oklahoma Mesonet. I found after using it for awhile to be very useful (can download radar data, temperature, any weather data that you would need) and excellent software. They also have a plugin which allows you to view Oklahoma Mesonet data on their website. Give this software a try if you haven't already.

If you actually play around with the settings, you can get a map of Florida/or the rest of the US. Also you can download NWS Observation Data for the US. If you are still having trouble, please contact me.
