uh-oh ... EWG ... you're going to spontaneously combust when you see what Jeff just sent out to his e-mail posse.

Let me give you a hint: the words "frozen precip" and "I-10" are mentioned together.

Anything about DFW area mentioned Porta? I'm not on his list that focuses mostly on SETX.

The DFW NWS is hedging against anything up this way for next weekend. And right now, I'm buying it. And happy about it. Too much holiday travel plans for the weather to get in the way. Selfishly, I hope that none of South La is affected with frozen precip either. I'd hate to delay our trip home for Christmas due to the weather. That happened in 2004 and it sucked.

Seems like the bulk of the precip (big if here ... if the lows track as far south as latest runs suggest) would be south of you, gboudx. However, Jeff mentions the possibility of a secondary vort max moving NW to SE across the state on Christmas Day, evening with some attendant moisture so that might impact you.

The error the GFS has had so far this winter is with lows too far south ... so that plays into your favor as well. Who knows?

I'll be happy to do that but I feel like it is only appropriate that I get Jeff's permission first. Let me ask him.

Man, I didn't get Jeff's updated again! I guess I'll shoot him an e-mail. Can someone post it here or pm me? Thanks!

Nevermind, I'm getting my secretary to forward it to me.

It looks like the focus is on the secondary vort max diving down on the west side of the main ULL. Unfortunately for snow lovers these rarely result in any appreciable amounts.

ATLEAST WITH THE GFS are chances of anything frozen has gone down. as the GFS move the system to fast before the cold air gets here. But one thing to note is all the other models show a slower scenario than the GFS. So I would'nt say were done until the Fat Lady Sings :cheesy:
