Wow, just looking at current conditions in Columbus, it is very warm...much warmer than our recent mild run of weather here. (We were topping out at around 55F to 58F).

This time last year when I was in Columbus, it was pretty cold by now..even the year before the cold weather was about to sink in.

Today's and tomorrows records for Columbus look beatable.

Just as an aside, I've been using the NOAA site to keep track...when i go through the records, it looks like they haven't been updated. For Nov 28th its got the record for Columbus as 67F reached in 1998....yet last year we got up to 71F on that date..yet NOAA haven't recognised this. I remember that day well as it was the beginning of the end for the unusually warm weather!

Yeah, I'm sure it will change, though this time last year we changed from cold to warm around Christmas in Ohio..and it pretty much stayed that way for the rest of winter!

Something thats been unusual for us in the UK recently is that weather patterns have not been changing. The UK is famous for fast changing conditions..yet 2006 we have been stuck under certain weather patterns for weeks at a time sometimes...much continental...this has put us on course for a record breakingly warm 2006.

We've undergone a change this weekend, from mild wet and windy to cool and settled....it had been wet and windy for nearly 4 weeks!

I'm going to be looking at Columbus with much interest this winter and how quickly changes in weather patterns occur. Here in the UK, they are becoming less and less frequent and we are becoming stuck with warm south westerly winds.

I take it this warm spell in the eastern half of the States right now is a settled warm spell?

Another 18" fell at my house. It (seriously) took me four hours to clear the driveway this morning, though admittedly, I have a big driveway.

While I don't think 18 inches of snow is in our future, this same system may pay a visit to my area this week. We may get the works--Freezing rain, sleet and snow followed by a change to all snow toward Thursday.

It is nice to see something exciting in the weather.

Its 80 degrees in the house here in Tampa. I just turned on the AC. 80 is my breaking point. Its not much cooler outside. If I had a pool I would jump in to cool off right now. I'm miserable, and it doesn't look like any cool weather in the near future.
