Check out our forecast for tonight and Friday night!
Today: Mostly sunny, with a temperature falling to around 48 by 5pm. North wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Tonight: Clear, with a low around 26. Windy, with a north wind between 15 and 25 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 47. North wind between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Friday Night: Clear, with a low around 22. Northeast wind around 5 mph.
We reached 25 earlier this week for a low which just missed tying the record low by 1 degree. The strange thing is it had been almost 4 years since my area has seen the mid 20's and now it's happening 3 times in one week with low 20's forecasted. The local tv station here is even predicting 21 for the city of Lafayette, I would not be surprised if there are reports of teens in the outlying areas.

Let's hear from some more Louisiana members in this thread! (Texas you has been representing quite well I must add!)
What a cold first 9 days in December we've had! 7 of the last 9 days have been below freezing at my house! The official recordings at the airport have been 5 freezes, and 2 mornings at 33. We also broke the record low for December 8th with 25. This morning we were also officially 25 with 24 at my house. I'd love to see how these first 10 days of December end up stacking up against the records. The climate data says we are 12.6 degrees below normal so far this month. I'd be willing to be it's in the top 5 coldest December starts since records have been kept.
I'll take a week or more average temperatures and we do need the rain as well. Hopefully the cold comes back in time for Chistmas.

LOL, we lit the fireplace for the second night in a row. You can't imagine how good it feels to have my fireplace back. It keeps the living areas (kitchen, dining, living room) perfectly comfortable while the bedrooms are a bit chillier. We don't get to use it often so when we do, it's a real treat.
I do need some warmer temps over the next couple of days just to get in my attic and re-organize.
I'm really hoping we get good weather for Christmas, like we did for Thanksgiving. With 38+ folks to entertain it's always nice to be able to have some of them wondering outdoors as well.

We hit 29F in New Orleans early Friday morning at Audubon Park, which was a new record by 1F. I know the Northern suburbs of New Orleans all were in the low 20's the last couple of nights. The high Friday in New Orleans was 44F with wind chills in the 20's all day, occasionally rising to the 30's, at times. I was inside at work all day, so it didn't really bother me too much. Came home, and had the heat on, so I was cozy.
