Great lakes/midwest snow storm 11/30-12/1

#1 Postby Pebbles » Thu Nov 30, 2006 10:06 am

Well it's a coming!

They are calling for 8 to 12 inches over night here in New Lenox (1 hours sw of downtown Chicago by Joliet). Of course I'm wishing for below that scale.. Kiddies want at the upper ends to above so school is canceled. Will try to squeeze in an update or 2 if possible. Never know what will happen here as Chicago weather is funny buisness! :P

Post your observations or discuss where you think will be hardest hit by the first big snowstorm of the season here!

If you believe WLS-TV Ch 7's noon forecast, here in Naperville is ground zero for a 14"+ event!

We shall see.

Look at the severe weather alerts and warnings map right now. This is a pretty significant event.

Oklahoma has a blizzard warning....most of Pennsylvania has a high wind warning....and SPC is talking about a derecho type event for Pennsylvania and New York for tomorrow. By this time Saturday, most of that warm air will be gone and replaced by the icy grasp of winter.
