Gozer must really be angry tonight then. I now am getting a bit worried about this palm tree I am watching shake, bend and vibrate with each gust. It won't take much more for it to possibly becoming crooked or even fall over. These are the strongest winds all day for sure.

Hopefully Gozer calms down by tomorrow though. :)

The front just started moving thru lafayette. The temps were dropping 1°/minute. So in the 16 minutes it took me to get home it went from 75° down to 60° and still dropping. It was neat to watch the thermometer keep going down.

Yeah, but I measured it off my kids plastic picnic table. And it had a nice layer of ice below the sleet/snow pellets/snow. I'm not gonna send this measurement to the NWS, for fear of being humiliated. :)

I use webshots.com - they make it real easy to upload, and then copy and paste the IT lingo to to either a blog or a message board.

I'm happy for those of you in north Texas who got to see snow/ice/sleet/freezing rain! You win ... this time!

All this event did for me is whet my appetite for a real Texas winter event that smacks a lot of us south of I-20. JB has been honking about one or two more possible events in the next 10 days but I don't see it. Sure, I see another strong high coming into the Plains in about 120 hrs but it doesn't seem like a split flow will be there to draw up moisture and give us the frozen stuff.

Now, if you'll excuse me ... I have a hot bowl of homemade chili that's calling my name. :cheesy:

its still snowing outside my apartment in Dallas.. light snow..... if you look at the radar theres still some snow in the cities of Dallas and fort worth.. its kind of hard to measure the snow fall in Dallas and fort worth because there was a lot of sleet and freezing rain to go along with it.... id say there was about a half inch to an inch of snow in some spots and a lot of freezing rain and sleet to go along with the snow... it just depends where you live in DFW.....

Hopefully JB will be right! Considering he has done fairly well so far, I think there is a chance he could be onto something this time. Let's just hope this year isn't another disappointment for my area (with the winter precip. always missing us by so little).
