What do you mean verify for IAH?
The short-term forecast for Houston says that temps will fall to 36 by 1pm.
The site used for Houston is Bush Intercontinental Airport, and the airport/reporting stations ID is IAH (Intercontinental Airport Houston).
When I say "verify" - I don't think we'll make the number; I don't think the forecast is right. (When a forecasted number hits/is correct, the forecast "verifies").
In summary, I think the Houston temp at 1PM will be above 36.
I hope this makes sense...let me know if u need further clarification.

Since we've been wondering where our HGX boyz have been with discussions coming out of Lake Charles, I emailed MIC Bill Read and asked about it. Why not go straight to the head honcho, right?
Here's the response:
Jennifer,
glad you noticed! we were doing a routine install of a large build on
AWIPS that takes 8-12 hours to complete. While doing the build, Lake
Charles was our back up. we will do the same for them on Jan 3. we
are back to normal this morning.
regards,
bill

This Afternoon: A 30 percent chance of rain before 4pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly sunny, with a steady temperature around 38. Northwest wind around 20 mph.

11am temperatures:
Brenham = 31F
College Station = 35F
Hooks airport (Tomball) = 39F
IAH = 42F
Hobby = 44F
the strangest thing is...IT IS NOVEMBER 30TH! (yet it feels more like January).
BTW: Once dewpoints fall below 32F, there is a chance some sleet could mix in with an precip. that falls. That is how it worked out during that event last December. The evaporative cooling with such dry air led to the wintery precip. mixing in. This should probably be only a localized occurance (and mainly north of I-10) though.

Hey EWG:
In reference to some of your questions the other day about how could it be colder further south - here is a good example of Arctic Air making a southward charge.
Sugar Land: 39F
Cypress: 38F
Wharton: 37F
----
IAH/Bush: 45F
Conroe: 42F
SugarLand is about 40nm SOUTH of Conroe but only about 10nm WEST.
