Here's a site I often refer to for episode summaries, in case this helps. Remember, I have the show on a VCR tape still.

Its Locke dreaming about who he is gonna save b/c he feels guilty for putting everyone in danger. Obviously that is boone pushing him around in his wheelchair. Its ironic sinceBoone died b/c Locke couldn't save him. Its like a guilt dream. Cuz isn't he supposed to save Echo or smthg this episode?

An ABC spokesperson confirmed Monday that production for Lost was unaffected by the earthquakes that rocked Hawaii on Sunday morning. The ABC drama was shooting on a full schedule Monday.

Kelly - ROTFLMAO! Some I honestly don't remember him saying but instantly I have an image of him saying such a thing. Some nicknames are offensive but they're comical too. There were a few repeats - Daniel Boone for Jack and Locke. Oddly enough, he could have called Boone Daniel Boone but he didn't. I have my faves but "Gen-u-ine I-raqi" for Sayid is pretty good. The way he says it makes it work. Also "Middle of Damn Nowhere" for the Island, too funny. Several Star Wars references too, but I remembered them.

Some characters I'm not familiar with yet - can't quite put a face to a name. Which guy did he say Chachi to? Describe the other if you can. Thanks.

Question posted on TV Guide's website today:

"Do you think Lost has jumped the shark?"

If you click on the link, you'll see replies on the blog from fans. Do ~I~ think Lost has JTS? Not yet but if they keep adding more characters, more storylines, flashbacks and never really get to answering questions fans have from way back to Season 1 and last season? Well, yeah, it could be getting close to that ramp. Just my opinion though. Remember, we have a new episode tonight. We get to see what happens in the hatch.

Jack in a Shark Tank - Coincidence?
I'm hearing rumblings that Lost has jumped the shark.

Ratings are down. The Others have a nice little community, a book club, and seem to be Red Sox fans. Jin and Sun are more deceptive, and Sawyer and Kate are hot and heavy. All of this after a total of two, count 'em, two episodes this season.

Everyone needs to take a very deep breath.

There are plenty of stories and flashbacks to be told. Lost has always been a show that takes a little while to get going. Let's give it a chance to get its sea legs.

BOONE! There, just had to say that.....I did see the actor's name listed in opening credits and almost wished I hadn't. I would have enjoyed seeing Boone in Locke's "sweat lodge" without knowing he was going to appear somewhere in tonight's show.

Locke - he is still one mysterious, creepy at times, character. Once paralyzed, temporarily mute, taking some odd concoction to hallucinate, once into growing pot, I don't know. I just loved all of Charlie's comebacks b/c he said pretty much what the viewer was thinking. Zero tolerance - loved that one the best. Charlie's quick jabs at Locke are all listed below in this morning's TV Guide review:

Lost

October 18, 2006: Bear... Is That You?

Thank god, or the island, for canteens. If Hurley hadn't raised his up in the nick of time he'd have been another of John's victims. You think after his whole spirit shack encounter with Boone, that John would be a little more concerned about saving human lives. I realize it was self-defense, but he could have waited until he saw white fur. Polar bears have long been my favorite animal. I always spend more time at the zoo staring at them than anything else, and I know they are vicious in the wild and not cute pets, but man, these tropical island polar bears which were presumably bred by the Others are a downright scary. With all those teeth and claws, yikes. I'm just not sure why the bear dragged Eko back to its cave alive. Wouldn't it have wanted to kill its prey so that it couldn't run away? Not that the bedraggled Eko looked like he was going anywhere fast.

I was immediately sucked into tonight's episode with the zoomed in shot of John's eyeball. I didn't realize how much I missed that signature image until I saw it again tonight. And while I enjoyed Sun and Jin's slow moving flashback, I was thrilled that tonight's was a little more exciting and offered up some more details on Locke's pre-island life. After his issues with his father, he joined up with a commune of people run by Mike and Jan, a couple of pot-growers (and apparent bank robbers) whose stash is hiding in plain sight in the middle of an orchard. I thought it was interesting to see the juxtaposition between this community and the weird little suburbia that the Others had on the other side of the island. (That Mike guy looked so much like Mr. Friendly to me, but it is a different actor. Still with a beard and a mustache? They'd look about the same, I doubt there's anything to that, and it is probably just me, just thought I'd share.) So did John just let Eddie go? Did Jan and Mike go after him? Was this before or after his job at the box factory? At least his experience out farming taught him about sweat lodges and how to make a gross looking paste that will bring out the hallucinations. Interesting concept that he wanted to talk to the island, this isn't the first time he's received messages from the island telling him what to do, but wasn't the last time he did it when he realized he had to sacrifice Boone? Loved the look of surprise on Locke's face when Boone showed up as his spirit guide. I'm a little concerned about Claire, Charlie and Turniphead though, since "Island Boone" said that they'd be fine... for a while. I'm also wondering about the comment about Desmond helping himself. Mostly I was just happy to see Boone again. I won't complain if he comes back in these sort of hallucinations more often. "Island Boone" also instructed John to clean up his mess before he could help Jack, Kate and Sawyer. Now that he's saved Eko with his MacGuyver-style blow torch, it seems like that's priority number one.

Is Desmond psychic now, or is he having visions of his own after the purple haze shined over the island and the hatch became a crater? Either way, I'm with Hurley that it was a weird bit of déjà vu to have him know what Locke was going to say in his speech way in advance. So maybe his experience with the key didn't make him into the Hulk, but it gave him another ability, or maybe I've been watching too much Heroes. I laughed out loud when Hurley encountered the naked Desmond in the woods though. "So, like, the hatch blew off your underwear?" He's too funny and seems genuinely upset by the fact that the Others sent him back as a message boy. But Hurley takes everything as it comes and didn't seem at all phased when they suddenly introduced two new castaways, Paulo and Nikki, who apparently had been around camp, but clearly overshadowed by the missing Sawyer, Kate, Jack, Sun, Jin and Sayid.

Not overshadowed tonight was Charlie. My favorite little hobbit had some priceless scenes with the temporarily mute John, and had some of the best lines of the night:
"Trees, I've heard they're wonderful conversationalists."
"You are aware John that I detest you?"
"I like the indoor fireplace. It's very snazzy."
"You're not taking drugs are you John? I only ask because of this strict zero tolerance policy you've enacted. I wouldn't want you to have to start punching yourself in the face."
"I used to get high and watch nature programs on the Beeb."
"Hairspray? I hate to be the one to point this out to you, but,.."

Now I'm happy that we got to see some of the other castaways tonight, and not just have all the action take place at the Others version of Sea World, but I wish there was a way that the episodes could be a little more integrated so that we don't have to go entire installments without seeing the other half of the island. And I can't believe there are only a few more weeks before this show goes on hiatus for a while. I don't know what I'll do.

The pointless flashbacks need to be eliminated

I don't give a you know what about the events pre island if they have no relevance to the show. Who cares if Locke was growing weed.

Advance the story line or viewers will continue to leave

Enough with the origional losties. A well trained chicken (maybe a poorly trained) knows they are not exactly good people

Derek - I hear everything you're saying. I'm way past back stories. But they'll continue I'm sure. I wasn't upset with last night's ep so much b/c we finally got to see more of our core group Losties. I've missed Charlie, Claire, etc. And it was great to see Boone again. I'm still not over that yet. A little annoyed with Locke right now - he is just too mysterious for me. I'm tired of his story. But next to Jack, Locke seems to be very important so prepare yourself for more of his story. We ~still~ don't know how he became paralyzed, after all this time too.

I still find it funny we got to meet 2 new Losties. My daugthter and I joked both actors probably are thrilled - they actually got names AND speaking parts last night. Their families have painstakingly recording each week, just hoping this is their break - LOL. That is, if both have been in the background since the beginning. I never paid close attn to this group of Losties - you see them, but they're not that important. Now they're on the payroll - really on the payroll!

Huge drop last night from the first half-hour to the second... it looks like a lot of other people are tired of all the flashbacks as well.

The new hour saw "Lost" take top, taking a 10.3/15 (6.6), beating "Criminal Minds," 10.1/15 (4.2). "Major League Baseball" on FOX took a 7.5/11 (3.2), beating "The Biggest Loser," 4.6/7 (2.9) on NBC. "One Tree Hill" took in a 2.1/3 (1.4) for the new CW.

Closing the night for The CW, "Criminal Minds" took a 11.0/17 (4.8) while "Lost" fell to a 9.4/14 (6.4). "Major League Baseball" coverage on FOX improved to a 7.7/12 (3.5), beating "The Biggest Loser," 5.2/8 (3.3). The CW closed its night with "One Tree Hill," 2.0/3 (1.3).

Before this season the show always grew at the half-hour mark. It should also be mentioned it lost almost 25% of those watching DWTS at 8:30pm.

How do you watch the first half and not the second half? I can't even imagine!! It must be people who aren't regular viewers and are just checking it out, get LOST and change the channel. I can see where you'd be LOST if you didn't know what was going on. It's really one of those shows you have to watch from the beginning.

Good episode, glad to be away from the others for a change. But it looks like they will be back next week. Sawyer looks to have a bad episode next week.

I didn't like this episode. I mean it was good. But there are still so many unanswered questions. Like what the heck was going on in the season finale with that lady who woke up to a phone call while sleeping and those two guys on a plane who called her. Are they gonna be saved soon? And what about Walt's superpowers? Are Walt and Michael gone for good and we will never know? I don't get it!!! LOL AHH!

Wowzers! 3 whole months without a new episode. That's a bit much I think. Losties, like us, will be in major withdrawl!!

Fans on the IMDB Lost board thought it was coming back after xmas. I don't ~even~ want to peek in there after that announcement.

February? I'm sorry, but I've just got to say it....it's very un-like Miss Mary....

WTF?

Well if it comes back sooner it would have repeats, and people complained about that.

As it stands it'll have 22 episodes(6+16), which is a standard order and probably as many as they can produce due to it being in Hawaii and such.
