I guess I shouldn't push for 5000 posts by tomorrow morning. Would that screw up the system. lol
Remember, I did quit smoking Sunday night so be very gentle with me and the answer you give. I'm a little touchy. No, not really, I'm A LOT touchie!!!! jk, jk
I'll be good. I promise.
(Wow, talk about useless posts - I think this one of mine can be considered just that!!!)

Sure the main reason why the Off-Topic Forum was taken away from TWC was because of the "Fun & Games forum." I would think it would have eventually been shutdown anyway because of the number of posts that general off-topic issues were accumulating on the site.
The more posts it was metioned, the more money it costs to keep the site up. Having each message posted costing money should still be an issue there now.

We have no intent of shutting down our Games Forum here.
After all everyone need a little something to do in the down times between storms! With the prunung enabled it should stay under control pretty well. If it gets too big we can always do some manual pruning as well.
Thanks for everyone's support!

although not really my business nor am i asking to know, i'd am curious as to what you guys pay for hosting Storm2k. i pay $16.95 a month for an excellent service that i am very pleased with even though i might get maybe .01% of the traffic that Storm2k does. i know i could go elsewhere and pay considerably less but i believe what i spend is a small price for the joy had through my online endeavors (http://www.pawleewurx.com). in other words, if what you pay is at or less what i am paying, even if only one person foots the bill, it's all money well spent. i look at like this, for $16.95 i could enjoy adding to and maintaining a site for thirty days or go to a two hour movie that i would eventually forget. considering the price of movies these days, $16.95 won't even get you a large popcorn and a pop! either way, for you, whatever amount, it's all money well spent. that's just some food for thought for anyone the least bit concerned about financing the Storm2k matrix... p

We pay right at 100.00 per year. This includes 500MB of disk space, 30GB of bandwidth, our annual Domain registration, and all the usual software (PHP, MySQL -3 databases, Apache) plus a lot of nice management utilities. We've been very happy with the quality of service that we've gotten. WxChat.com (VanceWxMan) is also using the same service. If you would like to explore their service the main site is http://www.ipowerweb.com.

Thanks for sharing that, Marshall. I pay $13.95 a month to maintain my website (and to keep it ad-free) so everyone that visits my website will have an ad-free site to surf ... I get a generous 75mb space and 10 GB transfer (which I do not even come close to using in a month, though, I wish I could get enough surf traffic for that) ... I do not have my site registered on a search engine though a couple of people have found my website through one ...
